Keep Your Home Cool and Save Money

Warmer temperatures are hopefully ahead for the Indianapolis area. With the spring and summer seasons approaching, your air conditioning will be pivotal to keeping your home cool. However, the additional use of your AC can lead to higher energy bills and a possible strain on your family's budget. Here are some tips from Duke Energy on saving money in the month's ahead.

Adjust the temperature setting of your thermostat. Adjusting the thermostat by three degrees in the summer could reduce your energy costs up to 30%.

Use fans to circulate the air in your home.

Close curtains or blinds on the side of your home where the sun hits during the day while you are there. If you are not going to be home, close all of your window coverings while you are away.
